Renovation

The Danwood Girl Scouts’ beloved “Little House” is in urgent need of a complete renovation to ensure it remains a safe, accessible, and welcoming space for generations of Girl Scouts and the wider community. After 75 years of use, this project will revitalize the building inside and out.

Total Estimated Cost: $250K

The renovation includes:

Interior Demolition and Structural Repairs

  • Safe removal of outdated and deteriorated materials
  • Framing of new walls, flooring, and ceilings
  • New sub-floor, drywall, insulation, and finishes
  • Complete bathroom and kitchenette upgrades, including:
    • ADA-compliant fixtures and doors
    • New plumbing, water heater, and drinking fountain
    • Cabinetry, flooring, lighting, and paint
  • Major HVAC, electrical, and sewer upgrades
  • Improved accessibility with wider doors and barrier-free design

Exterior Renovation

  • New concrete ramp and stoops for full accessibility
  • Vinyl siding, soffits, and trim
  • New windows, gutters, and downspouts
  • Porch foundation and upgraded walkways

Impact

This renovation allows us to:

  • Create two flexible meeting spaces
  • Add a wheelchair-accessible restroom and entryway
  • Offer a secure office and storage area for supplies
  • Open the facility to the wider Danville community as a rentable meeting space
